Here is one of the more DISTURBING theories that we have learned about in class--the spiral of silence. I have gone off on this one in one of my journal entries. Why don't they just call it the "Bully-on-the-Playground Theory"?! That's pretty much what it amounts to in my book. Besides, when has the "status quo/herd mentality" ever spawned anything of interest--let alone anything "revolutionary"?!?!?! NEVER!!! If you don't agree with "us", "we" will scare you into submission...

the sound of silence is virulent.. can i say that... yes bullies imposing a view, a popular view and then anyone that varies in opinion is up for ridicule and condemnation. it's great. i suppose there has been an incident where i sold out to the popular view, but not often...
it seems when making movies, there is an element of this spiral, it surfaces because ultimately everyone can't be the final word... thanks for that info on the origins of blog the word,,, web log... i wish i had the internet at home.... blogging is tedious...
